1. Form the Regional Chapter Committee
- Josephine Cilluffo (SF/NP) volunteered as interim Coordinator
with help from Christy Berger (Sacto)
- Christy has sign up of those wanting to be on committee
- Need to confirm people's interest and commitment to the
Regional Committee
- Possibly could have Regional Elections
- Would need to form Regional Nominations Committee
2. Form Regional Chapter
- Don't need to pay fee. Find out from National how to do
it.
- Get Every Interested Chapter/Branch on E-mail
- so that can work over long distances. Not every person has
to be on e-mail to be on the committee, but someone on their
branch has to be responsible to forward messages.
3. Prepare Proposal for Coordinators to
present to their Chapters/Branches for Ratification
- Some chapters like SF/North Peninsula will just automatically
become Branches when it is set up.
- Meeting before Sacto? (in Bay Area), When? Or just May 1 in
Sacto ?
- See Proposal link for a
beginning
4. Form Committee Structure
- ...including sub committees on the areas where we will
cooperate, e.g., Regional Newsletter Committee
- See following suggested Committees
5. Suggested Boundary of Northern California.
- An easy way to divide the state is by Counties. There is a
natural divide North of the Southern cities San Luis Obispo,
Bakersfield and Barstow
- Take a look at the Map
of Counties
- North: Monterey County, Kings County, Tulare County
and Inyo County
- South: San Luis Obispo County, Kern County and San
Bernadino Countiy
- I don't think that we are infringing on any counties in the
Southern California Plan. We are including Central Valley (Fresno)
and Tulare if they are interested.
- Chapters can exist in Northern California without becoming
branches. Members can belong to other chapters/branches or simply
to the Northern California Regional Chapter.
- List of potential Branches. We should be sure to have
contacted all of these:
- ALAMEDA/CONTRA COSTA
- BUTTE COUNTY
- CAMERON PARK
- CENTRAL VALLEY (Fresno)
- CH.A.D.D. CRUZERS (Santa
Cruz)
- CLEAR LAKE AREA
- DELTA VALLEY (Tracy)
- GOLD COUNTRY (Grass
Valley)
- GREATER SACRAMENTO
- MARIN COUNTY
- MID-PENINSULA
- MONTEREY COUNTY
- NAPA COUNTY
- SAN BENITO COUNTY
- SAN
FRANCISCO-NO.PENINSULA
- SOLANO COUNTY
- SONOMA COUNTY
- STANISLAUS COUNTY
- TULARE COUNTY
- TUOLUMNE COUNTY
- YOLO COUNTY
- Bold indicates that attended Regional Chapter Meeting. All but Gold Country
are on ncregion list
6. Research/Decide on the Money Issue
- Will Branches keep funds that they have now? How will Regional
Chapter start-up be funded?
- Or pool all resources and budget to Branches...
7. VAN lobby trip to Sacto April 30
- Lynn Heidelberg, Christy Berger.

Proposed Committees
Decided that These were Focused in Regional
Chapter
- Newsletter
- Add local insert?
- Localized or Centralized on Distribution?
- Fund Development
- Treasury
- Paid Staff for Clerical, Accounting?
- Regional Coordination
- Include Nominations Committee
- VAN Reps (Maybe same committee as State VAN Committee. Based
in Sacramento)
- Web Site
- Certainly could use Web for chats, discussion, local
interest links
- Could become a completely virtual branch on the web for
Northern Californians not yet in the catchment of any Chapter,
Branch or Satellite.
- Professional Advisory Board
- Resource Management
- Share any LD or ADHD related information, events
- Professional Resource list
- Membership
- Development / Outreach
- Especially in Schools
- Interface with National Database so that all of our
Chapter's members aren't attributed to DesMoines.
- Local or Cross-Branch database, or at least
inter-exchangeable? TBD
- Put on the Web with password access for Branch
coordinators
- Educational Meetings Developed
- Shared names, topics, booking
- Support Group Developed
- Develop "ADHD 101" Curriculum for Group and Web Page
- School Outreach Supported Regionally
Decided that These were Focused in Local
Branches
- Educational Meetings Delivered Locally
- Support Groups Delivered Locally
- Lew's opinion: Weekly Support Groups are a good candidate
to privatize: Once we deliver ADHD 101, ongoing support is too
costly and may be better delivered by Bay Area's many private
resources. CHADD's strength is in "ADHD 101" information.
- Mandated for Adults and Children separately. Cross chapter
curriculum could be integrated.
- Run ADHD 101 group locally
- School Outreach Delivered locally
- Critical interfaces with membership outreach.
