Women's Reading/Support Group

The CHADD women's support group is open to all women who are seeking a place to share their experiences and find ways to live productively with their ADD/ADHD.

The format for the meetings--the first Monday of the month through June 2006--will include a check-in and discussion initiated by an article or topic that is emailed to those who have sent or called in their email addresses. Copies of articles will also be available on the evening of the meeting for women who attend without contacting the facilitator.

Put it on your calendars or decide to come at the last minute... either way it's worthwhile. The bonding that takes place among women who find that their issues are shared by many others is as important as the information that's shared...

Please feel free to contact Natasha Walter-Fisk, 415-806-7977.

Natasha: "My first experience with a women's ADD group was Kali Grossberg's first closed group. It was wonderful to meet other women with ADD. They were smart, fun, and thought fast. Their ideas flitted from subject to subject in a way that I found comfortable, even familiar. We bonded and learned about coping with ADD. We made friends and supported each other during that time period. Kali led us through Sari Solden's book Women with Attention Deficit Disorder. That was in 2003! After that group I went to grad school. This June I will finish my Master's degree. Group support and women helping each other is truly wonderful. My intent is to continue to provide a place where women can receive support, connect with others, and learn how to cope more successfully with ADD."

DIRECTIONS:

The meeting is held in a lovely room called the Gazebo at the California Pacific Medical Center's (CPMC) Davies campus in San Francisco. The driveway entrance is in the middle of Castro Street between 14th and Duboce Streets.

If you drive, there's a parking lot at the end of the driveway on your right, or you can try to find someplace on the street before entering the driveway.

If you come by public transportation, take the N Judah to the Duboce Street stop and walk up towards Castro. You'll see the entrance to the campus on your left. The Gazebo is on the 1st floor of the South Tower. The South Tower is straight ahead as you enter the driveway. It's the building that has the big lighted EMERGENCY ENTRANCE sign. If you enter on the ground floor, take the elevator UP to the first floor.

As with all CHADD meetings, it's free to members; we ask for a $5 donation from non-members.

For those who are interested, an online women's chat group originating on the East Coast is available Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm PST. See http://www.addconsults.com/digichat/.
