There are several "L.E.A.D. groups" in Northern California that you may wish to investigate.

San Mateo

NEW L.E.A.D. GROUP STARTING Sunday 8/29, Noon - 5

For 6th - 10th grade kids with ADD, ADHD, &/or learning disabilities . Kids work together to understand their situation, figure out how to use their strengths to bridge weaknesses, and learn social & negotiating skills so that students can eventually advocate themselves for accommodations they need in school. Students also learn about their legal rights and responsibilities. Parent attendance is suggested for the opening meeting. Opening workshop lead by educational strategists Claudia Lowe and Cathy Manus.

Meets alternate Sundays thereafter for two hours. Time TBD

What it is:

  An educational program for students with learning disabilities.

Activities:

LEAD is about pulling exceptional young people together and addressing the issues of strengths and weaknesses and then developing self-confidence, success, and leadership.
